Time After Time in Stroud Promo Film

A BRAND new promotional film showcasing the highlights of the Stroud District was launched on February 7 by Stroud District Council’s tourism department.

The three-minute film features some of the best loved attractions in the Stroud District including Stroud Farmers’ Market, Berkeley Castle and the Stroudwater and Gloucester Sharpness Canals.

Helen Berryman from Berkeley Castle said: “We are very excited to be part of the Stroud district promotional film and see this as a great opportunity to entice viewers to come and see us, after whetting their appetite with a little snippet of Berkeley Castle.

“We hope that the film will attract many new visitors to the area, visiting not only us but some of the other interesting and wonderful attractions within our beautiful part of Gloucestershire.

"The film also features some of the festivals that make the Stroud district so unique, such as Art Couture Painswick, Randwick Wap, Stroud Open Studio Weekends and the Stroud Fringe.

Jo Leahy, director of Stroud Valleys Artspace said: “We’re delighted the SITE Open Studio Weekends have been featured in the new film.

“There are so many artists to discover who are working in such a wide range of spaces from a shed in a village garden to the industrial mill building in the middle of town.

“We’re hoping this will encourage more people to come to our very culturally distinctive open studios this year.

“I think the film is a great way to entice visitors to this wonderful area. There’s so much to explore.”

The council is aiming to put the Stroud district in front of a local and global audience to entice visitors to the area and boost the local economy.

Sara Chardin, tourism officer for the council said: “It’s an exciting time for the Stroud district.

“Our corner of the Cotswolds is not as well-known as some of the traditional honeypot villages in the north Cotswolds.

“So our aim is to put the Stroud district in front of a global audience to show how much we have to offer.”

While the film features breath-taking locations such as the Tyndale Monument and Selsley Common, it also highlights opportunities for outdoor adventure such as paragliding, mountain biking and surfing the Severn Bore.

Some familiar businesses are featured in the film, including Stroud Brewery, Time After Time in vintage shop and The Woolpack Inn in Slad.
