  • TTO 0063 Imagery Cornish Tin Mine Brooch Bronze brooch representing a Cornish tin mine ruin. Buildings like this can be seen all over Cornwall. The piece is signed MAGERY on the reverse. Good casting, a very attractive piece. The brooch measures 1 1/2" at the chimney and 3/4" at the widest point. Cornwall and Devon provided most of the United Kingdom's tin, copper and arsenic until the 20th century. Originally the tin was found as alluvial deposits in the gravels of stream beds, but eventually underground working took place.
